Summary and Rough Draft Turn in 2014
Sorry I wasn't able to get this posted yesterday! We lost power and I couldn't get online. But here it is now! Let me know if anything is unclear.

How to Submit Your Summary:

Just a reminder, this is mandatory and you need to fill out the following info and comment with it on this post by June 23rd or else you will be dropped. If there is some reason why you won't be able to make the deadline, let us know and we'll do our best to come up with a solution. This summary does not have to be the summary you use for posting. This just needs to be something to entice an artist into choosing your story! The information you post will be unscreened, so don't give away any surprises that you don't want the masses to know. Make sure that you give enough info so that our awesome artists know what kind of story to expect!

How to Submit Your Rough Draft:

  • Rough drafts are due before midnight on June 30th.
  • Send all rough drafts to scifibigbangmod AT gmail DOT com.
  • Please include the words "Rough Draft from YOUR USERNAME" in the subject line.
  • Please send rough draft as an attachment instead of in the body of the email. Please send as .docx, .doc, or .rtf file type. If you have a different word processor that uses a different file type, please let us know and we will try to accommodate it.
  • In the body of the email, please include your LJ or DW username (the one you signed up with and the one you will be posting the story with if different), the title of your story (current working title or just "untitled"), and the fandom you are writing for.

A few notes on rough drafts:

Note One. There are one of two requirements your rough draft must meet: If you are writing for the Mini Bang, you must have at least 4,000 words of your story written along with a summary of the rest of your story. If you are writing for the Big Bang, you must have at least 10,000 words of your story written along with a summary of the rest of your story. Or it must be a complete outline of your story.

Note Two: No, really. That's it. You've still got until the end of July to finish your story and get it beta'd. We only want what you have done now.

Note Three. If you need an extension on turning in your rough draft for whatever reason, please drop a line with your moderators either through PM or by email.

Note Four. If you do not have an AO3 account but would like one, please include this in your email.

* Title: Supercollider Swing (subject to change - titles are the worst...)
* Author: Hokuto
* Fandom: Marathon and Red vs. Blue
* Big or Mini Bang: Big Bang
* Genre: Action/Adventure(/Banter - that's a genre, right?)
* Rating: T leaning towards M (mostly for swearing/canon-typical violence)
* Summary: Project Freelancer investigates a crashed alien ship, searching for anything that could aid the war effort. What they find is beyond the Director's wildest dreams - but is trying to outwit a Rampant AI really such a good idea? (Hint: NO.)
* Any other author's notes/warnings: None that I can think of.

Title: Shallow Sky

Author: paperiuni (AO3)/sunling (DW)

Fandom: Mass Effect 3

Big or Mini Bang: Big Bang

Genre: Action/Adventure, Drama, Romance (Tali'Zorah vas Normandy/Garrus Vakarian)

Rating: M

Summary: Set after the Priority: Rannoch mission. A captured transmission leads the Normandy crew to the far edge of the galaxy in search of what might prove a crucial asset against the Reapers. Tali must try and measure the count of her grief, and Garrus has to contend with phantoms of his own.

Any other author's notes/warnings: Content warnings: canon-typical violence, strong language, discussion of PSTD. ALSO aliens! Aliens in love, quite possibly smut involving aliens. So that will probably be a thing. The romance and the main plot are at least equal in importance, and the former is pretty slow burn.

Title: Conversations With Dead People (extremely tentative title)
Author: Same, CarnivorousGiraffe
Fandom: Doctor Who/Discworld (primarily Doctor Who)
Big or Mini Bang: Mini
Genre: Mostly gen, slight canon shippiness, uh, kinda paranormal? I'm really not sure about the genre.
Rating: M to be safe for discussions of death and common Doctor Who themes (genocide, etc.)
Summary: The Doctor dies twelve times and each time Death is there to escort that persona away. Basically just a series of vignettes where the Doctor and the Death chat a bit, the Doctor criticizes his new bodies, muses about his latest life and death, often has regrets, and Romana is the best at Regeneration and Doctor Wrangling.
Any other author's notes/warnings: The only Discworld references/characters involved is Death, who is the basic skeleton in a robe with a scythe version, just with blue fire for pupils, so you don't need to know Discworld at all for this fic, and there's plenty of New Who stuff if you don't know Classic (or vice versa, for that matter).

Title: Cohesion
Author: misaffection
Fandom: Farscape/Doctor Who
Big or Mini Bang: Mini
Genre: Angst/Romance, AU
Rating: M
Summary: When Donna Noble remembered, her life was saved by a man who'd already escaped death himself - Bialar Crais. Now she travels with him, each filling the holes in the other. Donna knows this is what she wants. Who she wants. But there's a rather large ghost in her past. A ghost named the Doctor.
Notes/warnings: Cohesion follows Convergence and Coextension; both of which need to be read for this to make any kind of sense.
